Launched about a month ago by Turismo de Portugal, the #BRELCOME campaign has already impacted more than 8 million people and also the Scottish Government that addressed, in the social network Twitter, a message to Portugal:
#BRELCOME – “Portugal will never leave you” has impacted the British by genuine but also innovative way as it communicates the tourist destination. In a moment of uncertainty and probable change, this campaign uses humor to create a particular affinity with this market, and that Scotland now materializes in the form of appreciation.
The campaign integrates Portugal’s contingency plan for the UK market, which also includes a dedicated online service line and a specific informational area in the VisitPortugal portal. #BRELCOME promotes the assets of national tourism and with an investment of 200,000 euros will be until June to remember that, despite changes that may eventually be arriving, there are always things that do not change. Our beaches and flavours, our golf courses and our music festivals will never let welcoming visitors from the UK.
Portugal pioneered the adoption of this plan in Europe, which assures the British that they will maintain the conditions of travel currently benefiting, namely, visa-free, establishment of dedicated corridors at airports, use of insurance or recognition of driving licences…
